Realme and Xiaomi

Realme and Xiaomi are the top Indian mobile phone selling brands right now. They are really famous for their aggressive pricing strategies and good mobile qualities. Realme has been just introduced this year as an Oppo subbrand and it has within the same year made a separate brand out of itself and a brand that is highly successful and has sold more than 5 million smartphones till now. The Realme 1 was a good success while the Realme 2 continues to be their bestselling smartphone. The Realme C1 and the Realme 2 pro are also good phones in their price ranges. That is what we are going to discuss in today’s blog. Realme and Xiaomi increase prices of their new devices. Let’s first see which are the devices that have had its price raised and by how much.

1) Realme 2

First on our list is the Realme 2 whose base variant was of 8,999 earlier. Now the Realme 2 has its price increased to Rs 9,499 i.e. 500Rs increase. The 4Gb Ram variant still costs Rs 10,999 so there is no change in the pricing of the bigger variant. Is it still a good phone at this price we’ll discuss later.

2) Redmi 6

The Redmi 6 was introduced at Rs 7,999 for its base variant of 3Gb Ram and 32Gb storage. Well, its price has increased now to Rs 8,599 that is a 600Rs increase.

3) Redmi 6A

The Redmi 6A was introduced at Rs 5,999. The 2Gb Ram variant is now priced at Rs 6,999 while the 3Gb Ram variant costing Ra 6,999 earlier now costs Rs 7,499.

4) Realme C1

The Realme C1 was an ultimate smartphone released with the price of Rs 6,999 having the processor Snapdragon 450. Now it is priced at Rs 7,999.

Reason for increase in price

Both companies upon releasing the products had said that if the Rupee keeps on depreciating then they would have no other choice than to increase the price of the smartphones. Indeed the Rupee kept on depreciating and we have seen the rise in price. Well, the question arises is that did the Rupee hike not affected other companies. They have not increased their smartphones prices. A conclusion can be made.

Phones which become extremely popular get their prices increased. It was seen in the case of Redmi Note 5 pro and now these smartphones. All devices except the Realme 2 and Redmi 6 are now not aggressively priced. Redmi 6 has a processor used in 14000Rs devices and Realme 2 has its good looks and smart processing. While the Realme C1 priced at Rs 7,999 can face competition from Asus Zenfone Max M1 which has a fingerprint sensor at the same price.

Thus, be a good consumer and choose carefully.
