How Pandora’s Beauty Tormented The Peace On Earth?
According to Greek mythology, Pandora was raised by Gods and was used as a weapon to punish Prometheus (one of the ringleaders of the battle that took place between Titans and Olympian Gods), was a Godly entity who stole fire from the Gods and provided it to the mankind.
Pandora was married to Epimetheus (Prometheus’ brother) and she came on earth for him. Among all the lovely gifts she received from Gods, there was one jar she was gifted which she was asked never to open in any circumstances. Epimetheus was told by his brother (Prometheus) not to accept any gifts from God. But he was completely blinded by Pandora’s beauty and so did not pay much attention to his brother’s advice.
One day, Pandora’s curiosity regarding the jar touched the peak and she opened the lid of the jar-box. Before she could realize anything, all the evil including war, toil, disease, the necessity to work for survival, etc. released in the world. By the time she tried to close the box, it was too late. Only one thing did not escape and remained caught at the lid of the jar, that was hope. This is the reason mankind relies on one thing in the hardest of times and that is hope.
If we get a little further, Prometheus was then brutally punished by Zeus (king of Olympian Gods). Zeus took him far away in the east direction and tied him to the rock. He then sent an eagle to eat Prometheus’ liver. The worst part is that the liver regrew every day and Prometheus was bound to bear the terrible pain. As man relies on hope, a positive thing happened in Prometheus’ life. The celebrated Hercules was one day passing by the rock where Prometheus was bound and he killed the eagle.
