New Policy of UDAN-RCS. UDAN-RCS i.e. Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik Regional connectivity scheme, to make an affordable and accessible air travel for the middle-class traders. It’s a Regional airport development and connectivity scheme to enhance inclusive national economic development and job growth. It’s a key component of the PM Modi’s National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP) released by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Recently, the Centre announces State governments that are keen to enhance the air connectivity on international routes for tourism. They will get the benefits of subsidy at domestic airlines for a fixed period of 3 years. Also, all the comments related to this from stakeholders will invited till September 4, 2018.

The airlines whose passenger seats are unsold will only get the financial aid by the center. The airlines have to bid for the percentage of flight capacity of which they require financial assistance. Most importantly, the figure should not increase by more than 60% of the flight capacity. Even the subsidy will be given for higher percentage of seating capacity during the bidding.

RCS that is regional connectivity scheme, there is capping of fares at Rs2500 only for 1 hour of flight on a fixed-wing aircraft. This will obviously help in making air travel at affordable prices for middle businessman group.

Overseas Opportunities

Assam is to invest Rs 100 crore every year for flights to Dhaka, Kathmandu, Bangkok, Singapore, Yangon and, Kuala Lumpur. Andhra Pradesh has also keen to invest and enhance tourism through its Civil Aviation Ministry. Many other states such as Gujarat etc. are also planning to invest to enhance the domestic aviation market. Centre looks for international connectivity through airlines for tourism purposes for the people with disposable income. So, UDAN-RCS will prove to be an asset to fulfill the development process of domestic airlines. Not only domestically but also internationally, it will enhance.
