Malang has some beautiful songs and also a love story! But is it enough for a film to be successful? Read below to know!
Movie Review Of Malang
Malang has some interesting ideas. Sadly, they did not work. The main reason behind this is that the flick seems most interested in making it visually attractive. Disha Patani’s glamorous beauty and Aditya Roy Kapoor’s chiseled abs have been focused so much that the thriller stuff has been eclipsed . The atmospherics of Malang are dark which are about brutal murders, corruption in the police force and unrestrained drug use.
Anil Kapoor comes into the picture as a senior cop, ‘Agashe’ who has nothing to do with the rules. The trailer in the flick cued that Kunal Khemu is the villain in the movie Malang but, he portrayed the role of a righteous cop who adheres to rules. Predictable twists have made the movie drag and a major reveal is already displayed in the trailer. Viewers can easily see it coming through a distance.
The interesting character here with logic is Kunal Khemu. His scenes with his wife are best in the flick Malang. Having said that, the scene stealer is still Anil Kapoor as Agashe. He is unpredictable and on edge but even after that, the scenes are there where he showed his pain that remains hidden in his heart. The movie is long and is boring in many places. To give the credit when it’s due, it does lift several places. Ironically, even this does not work as the end is predictable and a tad exhausting. It was better sleeping on ‘palang’ rather than going to theatres and watching ‘Malang’.
Hope that actor Kunal Khemu gets more interesting roles as even doing films that are not so interesting, he is proving his mettle.
