The trailer of the movie Laila Majnu was really plain and simple. Perhaps the makers of the movie did not want to give too much away. But after seeing the movie, you will definitely realize that the trailer was even less than the tip of the iceberg. The movie is much more and is impressive to the unimaginable extent.
The story of the movie is simple as the name gives the clear information. It is about two lovers ‘Laila’ and ‘Kaiz’ whose family are political opponents and hence great rivals. The story is set in modern day Kashmir which is displayed as beautifully and magically as it can get.
The character of the modern day ‘Laila’ is different in a way that her mannerisms are not the ones which one could expect from Laila of the 1st century A.D.
She loves to be followed by guys and Tripti Dimri has done justice to this role. But when she is in love with Kaiz (the original name of Majnu) then she is portrayed as a loyal and true love and her performance is effective enough to make people weep.
Imtiaz Ali and Sajid Ali have done a fantastic job by writing a character of Kaiz in a way that it shows how modern day ‘Majnu’ gets ruined in love in the way old ‘Majnu’ did. Avnish Tiwary is mind-blowing in playing this character. His transformation in the movie Laila Maju becomes so touching and real to a point where the audience would definitely find it hard to hold back tears and emotional heft!
The madness and the natural insanity that is displayed by Kaiz in the surroundings of beautiful Kashmir in the flick will make you question your notions about love. Kaiz becomes so much in love with the idea of love that he begins to stop giving any attention to anything and that includes Laila.
The movie Laila Majnu talk about strong areas and feelings about love which no one express but such feelings remain deep somewhere which people never want to answer. That is the level of discomfort such questions hold that people do not even want to imagine it.
The one and only flaw with the movie Lila Majnu is that it has shown the couple ‘clicking’ very easily. It could have shown more incidents to make us believe that they have fallen in love with the level of madness.
After all, nobody in this world redies to die together just after meeting twice or thrice. The big main reason why the movie Laila Majnu Works is due to its music and background score.
The way the music composers have amalgamated the Kashmiri original songs to modern day music will shake your emotional chords from inside. To some extent, they have eclipsed the faults which were in writing regarding ‘Laila’s’ character in this fantastic movie Laila Majnu.
Looking at Avinash Tiwary’s performance you will feel that at some places he is so deep that he looks like a living emotion and crases to exist as a person. There is no reason to miss this movie Laila Majnu. must watch!
