Kareena’s Most Underrated Movie Character: Mahi Arora in Heroine
Madhur Bhandarkar is that director who has a knack of making his actors touch the darkest pit. He did it successfully in the movie ‘Chandani Bar’ with Tabu and since then there was no going back. In one of the recent interviews, Kareena opined that she gave thousand percent to this character and even after that the character did not get the recognition it deserved.
The flick ‘Heroine’ was released in 2012 and had Kareena played the role of a star actress. She even said that this was one of those characters which she could not get out of her head even after pack up. She admitted that she is an actress who can switch off the character as soon as the shoot is over but the character of Mahi Arora did not leave her. Her desperation for her beloved, her insecurities everything that a heroine goes through but never let it come on the face was visible n the movie. It is the character that consumes an actor and yes, Kareena had the capability of pulling that role off!
The Jab We Met actress also said that she was thrown into the darkest zone while portraying this role of Mahi Arora and was completely naked. Even after looking gorgeous, having popularity and fame, there are things which lack in a celebrities’ life and Kareena was on full display with it in this film. Might be if the movie was released in recent times, the credit and the popularity would have been much more. The positive thing is that this character of Mahi Arora is slowly growing in stature as the taste and understanding of the audience is evolving.
