India Vs West Indies first test match started just 3 days ago on 4th of October. Since then not once were West Indies in lead. They even lost the toss. Virat won the toss and chose to bat first.

In the Indian batting, the debutant Prithvi Shaw hit his first century and left everyone impressed. Kohli scored another century and along with him Jadeja for the first time in his career scored a century. India scored a total of 649-9.

In the West Indies batting side they wete left beaten when the Indian bowlers bowled them out for just 181 runs in which only one batsmen Roston Chase scored more than 50.

Ashwin picks 4 wickets

From the Indian bowling side, it was R. Ashwin who picked up 4 wickets. Along with him Shami picked up 2 wickets and Umesh, Jadeja and Kuldeep each picked up one each.

Kuldeep strikes again

In West Indies follow on innings it was Kuldeep Yadav who struck up and picked up 5 wickets. Ashwin grabbed 2 and Jadeja got 3 wickets. In the second innings the pacers were left wicketless. It was the spinners who did the trick and bowled out West Indies at just a total of 196.

India won the match with a difference of an innings and 272 runs. It was really a funny match to watch( no offense to West Indies). West Indies were never really good at the test cricket format but who would have had thought that they would win with an innings and 292 runs. It was similar to what India lost against England in the recently ended test series. Well, no recall of that series should be made. It was an unfortunate event. Now, India will step again against West Indies in the 2nd and final test match of the series.
