India vs England 1st test match began from today in the 5 match test series. The match is being played in Birmingham where England won the toss and decided to bat first. Here’s the card of the playing XI

India never let the opponents take a lead as they bowled out the openers Alistair Cook at a meagre 13 runs and Jennings at 42 runs. Captain Root in spite playing a good inning of 80 lost his wicket as run out from the hands of the Indian captain Virat Kohli. Again Dawid Malan got out through an lbw by Mohammad Shami. Jonny Bairstow played a good knock of 70 and stokes somewhat being out of form got out at a score of 21. The in-form Jos Butler lost his wicket to R. Ashwin at a duck. Adil Rashid and Stuart Broad were lbw by Ishant and Ashwin at the low score of 13 and 1.

Currently, England will land on the field on the second day of the Birmingham Brawl with a total of 289 for a total loss of 9 wickets.

From the Indian Corner, there were a total of 5 bowlers and it was again the never failing and never disappointing R. Ashwin who picked up 4 important wickets at the right time in his 25 overs. Mohammad Shami picked up 2 wickets out of his 19 overs while Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav were able to capture a total of just 1 wicket and Hardik Pandya remained wicket-less.

From 216-4 the Indian bowlers took it to 285-9 which is absolutely fantastic. The Indian captain surely would be glad about the outcome of the 1st day of the test match but shouldn’t get over-confident as the England pacers would not let them survive and make runs very easily.
