About 20 years ago, two Stanford PhD students launched a new search engine. Its objective was to make information readily and universally available to all. Its name was Google and today is Google’s 20th birthday.

Google completely revolutionized and changed the way we interact with the internet. Google was incorporated on 4th September 1998 but the company has celebrated its birthday on 27th September for over a decade.

Today, Google is marking its 20th birthday with a few interactive features. This includes a video doodle that highlights popular searches over the years, a time capsule of Easter Egg search items, a street view tour of the original garage in which the company was founded and a Google Images desktop redesign.

The video doodle is really cute and thanks all the users for the support they have provided to the search engine for the last two decades. On the other hand, there are plenty of hidden gems to be found inside Susan Wojcicki’s Menlo Park garage.

This is where Larry Page and Sergey Brin set up the first office of Google. You can take a virtual tour of the home which has been painstakingly and authentically recreated to look as it did in 1998.

A bunch of 90s gadgets are scattered around. Do remember to open the secret door and turn on the neon lights to find more Easter eggs and google memorabilia.
