Winter is around the corner. It might not look so now but suddenly, it will be winter one day and you will be unprepared. You will have to buy all winter gear in a rush or just rely on your previous year’s wear, which was also bought in a rush. To avoid these mishaps and to shape you up to be a better man this winter, here are some style tips, you should follow:
Gloves:
NEVER buy black gloves. Black is truly an overrated colour. Try to get unlined gloves with shades of blue or any other heavy colour that might accentuate your wardrobe. Avoid lined gloves as they look too gaudy and are not sleek. You can also try out driving gloves as they are quite airy. They keep the hands warm and fresh at the same time.
Suede Boots:
Suede boots are the best thing that will happen to you this winter. They are quite convenient. Try to get brownish boots to match with most of your outfits. If the boots are laced, buy laces of different colours. It feels like having multiple shoes at the price of one. The boots will remain in your winter wardrobe for at least three years.
Pea Coat and Trench Coat:
This is for all men out there. Do yourself a favour and buy at least one pea coat and one trench coat. Get a double-breasted pea and a double-breasted trench coat. Get shades of grey or blue. If you want to go a bit towards the high style, buy a dark red shade. This will stay in your winter wardrobe for many years.
Get a suit:
This is only optional. Buy a suit only if you have the adequate budget. There is no better excuse to wear a casual suit than the whole season of winter. In the suit category, buy something of a lighter shade as your winter wardrobe is already stocked up with the heavy shaded coats. Always use a pocket square with your suit. Otherwise, it’s a missed opportunity. You could keep it simple or go over to wool or silk pocket squares. Believe me, they are worth it.
Watch the watch:
A digital watch is excusable for sportspersons, who truly have use of the different functions. But if you are using not using a digital watch as a fashion statement, the only statement you are making is that you are too lazy to look at the hands of a watch. Go with a medium sized circular or rectangular dial.
The preferred colour palette would be blue and gold. Now, if you truly want to stand out from the crowd, get a pocket watch with a chain. They are not very expensive, contrary to popular belief and are readily available on sites like Amazon. They are a bold and stylish fashion statement and a true symbol of elegance and sophistication. Pair them with your coats and suits for a stylized winter wardrobe.
