Does the name Rick Riordan seems familiar to you? If not well this name might: Percy Jackson. Rick Riordan is the creator of the famous Percy Jackson and author of several best-selling novels. The novel made it seem that Percy actually is a person in real life which is also true. Percy Jackson is a character based on Perseus, son of Zeus and was a brave warrior. There are so many books that it might be confusing which book is to be read first.

Here’s the order in which to read Rick Riordan’s Novels in a serial manner.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Percy Jackson and the Olympians contain a total of 5 books, each book having approximately 400 pages and more. The five novels are-:

(1) Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

The novel was released in 2005 and was the first novel by Rick Riordan. Percy Jackson along with his friends goes on a quest to find Zeus’s lost Lightning Bolt and save his mother along the way. It certainly will be the most humorous novel you have ever read.

(2) Percy Jackson and the Sea of monsters

Percy Jackson and the sea of monsters is the second installation of the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. In it, Camp Half-blood is under attack when Thalia’s tree becomes poisoned. to save the tree and Camp Half-Blood Percy Jackson along with Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood goes on a quest to find the Golden Fleece from the island Sea of Monsters.

(3) Percy Jackson and the Titan’s Curse

Released in 2007 Titan’s Curse follows the journey of Zoe Nightshade who along with Bianca, Thalia and Grover go on a quest to save the earlier captured Goddess Artemis and Annabeth. Percy uninvited goes along with Nico Di Angelo to help them.

(4)  Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth

Released in 2008, The battle of the Labyrinth follows the quest lead by Annabeth to prevent Luke’s attack on Camp Half-Blood through the labyrinth. The quest involved Percy, Annabeth, Grover and Percy’s brother Tyson.

(5) Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian

Released in 2009, it follows the journey of Percy Jackson who is now ultimately going to face the father of all gods Kronos. Although being the best out of the 5 novels, the anticipation that was held of finally Kronos, the big Villain making his return certainly lacked. Still, you will love the novel.

(2) Heroes Of Olympus

Heroes of Olympus is a spinoff of the Percy Jackson series written by Rick Riordan in which Jackson too has a very important role to play.

(1) The Lost Hero

Its the first book in the series released in 2010. It follows the Journey of Jason who doesn’t remember anything as he wakes up on a bus to find he has a girlfriend named Piper and best friend Leo. Along with both of them, he goes on a quest to save Hera, queen of the gods before she is lost forever and finds out dangerous secrets about himself that he had earlier forgotten.

(2) The Son of Neptune

The son of Neptune follows the story of Percy who can’t remember anything except the name Annabeth. He finds the camp Jupiter and goes on a quest to free God of Death, Thanatos to save the world from Gaea.

(3) The Mark of Athena

The Mark of Athena released in 2012 which tells the story of Greek demigods Annabeth, Percy, Leo and Piper and the Roman demigods Hazel, Frank and Jason finally uniting to form the prophesied 7.

(4) The House of Hades

Hands down it is the best novel ever written by any author. the intense action that is in the novel can’t be compared to any other. When Percy and Annabeth fall into Tartarus they find their health deteriorating, find the worst monsters of their dreams. It follows the story of if they will get out of Tartarus alive and how?

(5) The Blood of Olympus

In the final novel of the series, all 7 heroes go to war against Gaea who has finally risen and wants to finish everything living. It follows the quest of the 7 demigods Leo, Piper, Frank, Hazel, Jason, Annabeth and Percy. As per the prophecy, one of the 7 is going to die. find out who is it gonna be?

That is pretty much it. It took me approximately 10 days to finish off the heroes of Olympus and 5 days to finish the Percy and the Olympians. I guarantee that all novels are pretty great and never will bore you.
