Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals most valuable player is finally coming to shape as a good Indian Batsmen. The third T20 match between India and West Indies was a really close one. However, with his fearless style, Pant helped India reach the milestone and win the series 3-0.
The third T20 began with the hosts batting first. They put up a respectable 150 target for Team India to chase. This time we saw KL Rahul and Dhawan on the crease. Dhawan who is going through a tough form scored just 5 runs while KL got out at a score of 20.
In came Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant. With slow innings at first but catching up quickly, the duo set targets for how to play in a T20 match. While Pant went on to score an unbeaten 65, Virat Kohli scored 59 and got out. Rishabh Pant in his fantastic innings hit 4 fours and 4 sixes.
In the first two matches, Pant got out at scores of 0 and 5 trying to play big shots. However, in this match, he took a good amount of singles and doubles, realizing his mistakes of the first two matches. He knew that he should settle down first and then hit the ball out of the ground.
Rishabh is certainly a crowd favorite person just like Dhoni. Post the victory, Twitter flooded with praise for the young cricketer. His comparison with Dhoni was a major topic of discussion where people began to cut out Dhoni’s name and wrote:
‘Dhoni Pant finishes off in Style’
The comparison is however unnecessary and unjust. Pant should be praised for what he is. Rishabh Pant in an interview said that he is a big fan of MS Dhoni and people should never compare him with the legend.
