I think you did not read it right! It is Nomo phobia, not Namo phobia. This word is being used constantly these days, due to the increased usage of mobile alias smartphone. This phobia is all about fear of being away from your best friend and that is Smartphone!
I broke up, so I will post message on Facebook.
I got good increment, so I will post it on Instagram.
I would be using washroom for third time in the day, I will update it on Twitter.
I am at funeral, so I will take selfie and put it on Snapchat!
These are the kind of updates that I got in my Facebook feed and it was not surprising for me that this trend is going to increase.
As per the survey conducted by renowned agency, 88% of teenagers say that they talk more to smartphones than to humans and they check their phones at an interval of 10 minutes.
This is a grave matter of concern and needs to be taken care and this can be done by:
- Change your Notification settings to OFF
In all the apps you install, specifically social media accounts, change the notification settings to off as this will help you to maintain your focus on work and ultimately, will boost up your productivity.
- Uninstall Unused Apps
It is our bad habit that we do want to dispose off those things in our life that we do not want. It needs to be changed by uninstalling those apps, which you have not used since long period.
- Take an exit from WhatsApp Group
Though it will be a little harder for you but you have to do this for your own benefit. Receiving good morning messages, thank you messages, birthday messages on several WhatsApp group is of no use. It only wastes your time.
- Before Bed, no phone please
Ensure that you do not use your phone at least 1 hour before going to bed, as this will not disturb your sleep time and it will ensure that you will give more time to your family instead of your inhuman friend.
- Decide your boundaries
Promise yourself that you will not use your smartphone during meal times, family time, washroom time, office time or whatever time you decide, keeping in mind your job requirements.
This may seem little bit harsh to yourself but always remember that you have to sacrifice something to gain many things.
