On February 7, 1999 at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Anil Kumble achieved a magical feat and became the second bowler in the history of Test cricket after Jim Laker to capture all ten wickets of an innings. In second Test of a short two-game bilateral series with Pakistan, India desperately needed to win this match to level the scores in the series.

With a humongous total at their heads of 420, Pakistan’s chances of drawing the match on the final day of the test were completely shattered by Kumble, who took 10/74 in a single innings to bowl India to their first win against this opposition in 19 years.

From 101/0, Pakistani team got devasted to 128/6 after a 100 run partnership for the opening wicket of Saeed Anwar and Shahid Afridi. Afridi was the first to go as he got caught to wicketkeeper Nayan Mongia. Ijaz Ahmed and Inzamam-ul-Haq soon followed and once Saeed Anwar returned to pavallion it was final nail in the coffin for Pakistani team.
