Web Series has become a success in India. Due to their flexible nature and interesting content, viewers are preferring Web Series more than they prefer watching movies. Since 2018, there have been a lot of Web Series produced specifically for Indian Users. This was started initially by Netflix when they launched the super-hit Sacred Games starring Saif Ali Khan and Nawaz Uddin Siddiqui. Since then many Web Series has been created. (1) Yeh Meri Family
In Yeh Meri Family, TVF takes you back to the good old summer holidays of ’98. The Gupta family consists of brothers Harshu and Dabbu, their small sister Chitthi and their parents. In Season 1, we see Srikant facing against the sharp-minded Pakistani force ISIS who will do anything to wage a war between India and Pakistan. (3) Sacred Games(S1, S2)
Most of the Indians are familiar with Sacred Games. The Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer involves everything you can expect out of a web series. It involves murder, mystery, love, sex, and characters that you will instantly fall in l0ve with. There are currently 2 seasons of the series available to watch on Netflix. A 3rd Season might be in the making.
(4) Mirzapur
Mirzapur is another famous Indian Web Series. It involves high use of 18+ language and you should consider this factor before starting to binge-watch. If you are sensitive to such language, don’t even watch its beginning. Akhanand Tripathi made millions of exporting carpets and became the mafia boss of Mirzapur. His son, Munna, an unworthy, power-hungry heir stops at nothing to continue his father’s legacy. The show is much more interesting than it sounds.
(5) Breathe
Breathe is another great Indian Web Series launched by Amazon Prime. It is a drama and thriller show exploring the lives of ordinary men when they face extraordinary circumstances. Crime Branch officer Kabir puts together the pieces of seemingly unconnected deaths of organ donors. It leads him to an unlikely suspect-Danny, seeking an organ transplant for his dying son. Kabir becomes determined to solve the mystery.
