No Alcohol on Goa Beaches after 15 August is a direct order given by the CM Parrikar. As heavy fines will be levied on those who will break rules. Goa is the most sought after coastal tourist place in India that attracts a lot of tourists from both inside and outside India. But this step is taken in wake of recent crime incidents due to alcohol that has happened in Goa. Tourists of India and the entire world come to Goa for celebrating their vacations. These tourists get in trouble when they are heavily intoxicated at public places such as roads, pubs, restaurants and clubs and on beaches. Due to this sometimes tourists deal with near fatal health implications. Criminals get a golden chance to pickpocket, snatching and taking advantage of the heavily intoxicated tourists.

Goa Chief Minister Mohan Parrikar said, “There are common places where people use public places for alcohol. People are using footpath for drinking beer along the river in Panaji city. If people will drink beer at these tourist places like beaches and river footpath from next month, people have to pay a fine for it”.Chief Minister of Goa has not specified the fine of drinking alcohol.  The fine of drinking alcohol will start from 15 August 2018. He also said that littering is an offence in Goa. Goa government will increase fine on littering. Goa is plastic Free State.  If tourists or people will take plastic bags in Goa, fine will increase from Rs 100 to Rs. 2500. Goa chief minister Mohan Parrikar said I think, it is the best way to control the danger of pollution and crime. Use of No Alcohol on Goa Beaches and use of plastics will not.

Goa Chief Minister Mohan Parrikar said about those people who offer flowers to God and dump them in Mandovi River wrapping them in plastic. Parrikar also said we clean old bridge every day, but people dump lots of flowers on bridge’s footpath daily. People think that they are doing great religious work after dumping flower into the water. People can dump flowers in water but they cannot dump plastics in water. No Alcohol on Goa Beaches and a heavy fine on dumping plastics will make Goa clean and safe.
