Events and Missions of ISRO. ISRO (Indian space research organization), gave tributes to its first chairman, Vikram Sarabhai on his birth ceremony August 12, 1919. He was the cosmic ray scientist and was the visionary scientist and legendary founding father. ISRO current chairman Dr. K. Sivan unveils the bust of Vikram Sarabhai, in Bengaluru on Sunday. Very soon, ISRO has scheduled to launch the ISRO TV channel to target the young viewers in remote areas. Also, it has planned to showcase space applications, developments and science issues for people in their regional languages. So, upcoming is the major Events and Missions of ISRO.

Major Events

Almost, 50 missions which ISRO has identified for the next 3 years.

• The launch of the NovoSAR-S & SSTL-S1 through PSLV_C42 rocket in September 2018.
• The launch of the HYSIS and 30 small foreign satellites through PSLV-C43 in October 2018.
• ISRO Plans to launch the GSAT-11 by Arianespace and GSAT-7A through GSLV-F11 launcher in November 2018.
• Launch of the EMISAT through PSLV-C44 and GSAT-31 by Arianespace in December 2018.
• The launch of the Chandrayaan-2 though GSLV-Mk3 launcher in January –March 2019.
• The launch of the RISAT-2B through PSLV-C45 launcher in January 2019.
• At last, Launch of the GSAT-30 by the Arianespace.
• Also, ISRO has planned the mission of Solar mission Aditya-L1 and Navigation satellite IRNSS-1J through PSLV. Fixed or Geostationary Earth Imager GISAT through GSLV will be launched.

ISRO will launch Mission ‘Vikram’ for the first Indian Moon landing spacecraft that is Chandrayaan-2 in early 2019. Dr. Sivan told that they would open the spaceport for the visitors just as NASA used to do. Shortly and surely, ISRO will allow the public to the  Sriharikota launch centre to look at the satellite launches. Also, ISRO is developing SSLV (small satellite launch vehicle) for the on-demand rocket for small satellites weighing about 500-700 kg.
