The Xiaomi Mi Reader features a 6-inch HD E-Ink display with a pixel density of 212ppi. Lookwise, it is similar to the Amazon Kindle with a dual-tone design and thick white bezels and a dark rear panel. It measures 159.2 x 116 x 8.3mm and tips the scales at 178 grams. The device offers 24 brightness setting options for different lighting conditions. It allows for uniform Brightness Coverage of upto 90 percent. The device is powered by a quad-core Alwinner B300 processor and runs on Android 8 oreo. The device is compatible with multiple file formats such as TXT, EPUD, PDF, DOC, XLS, PPT, and the whole suite of compatible WPS and Microsoft Office content. It has a small battery of 1800 Mah and a type-c port for charging. You can easily transport your library from the cloud and seamlessly switch between reading on their phone to the Mi Reader.
Pricing
The Xiaomi Mi Reader is available at a cost of CNY 579 translating to Rs 5,900. This price is available for early birds who support the crowdfunding process. Once the crowdfunding goal is achieved, the device’s price will increase to Rs 6,100 or CNY 599. There is no news about its launch in different markets such as India.
