Most of the world was introduced to symbology and the Illuminati and the Freemasons through the utterly popular Robert Langdon series of books written by Dan Brown. Dan Brown, to his credit, took his readers on a wild ride through all the five books helping them dive into a story that was fictional yet well researched and very well written.
The Robert Langdon series is a set of five books that follow the adventures of a professor Robert Langdon as he solves the knots in the plots with his intense knowledge of symbols, languages, history and of course secret societies.
Angels and Demons
The story starts at the premier science institution CERN and after an exhilarating journey ends in the Vatican City in the courtyard of the highest authority of the most followed religion in the world. When a physicist is murdered and branded with a symbol, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is called in to help. This takes him or rather sucks him into an adventure wherein he has to save mankind from annihilation.

The Da Vinci Code
This is probably the most famous book of the Robert Langdon series and one of Dan Brown’s finest works. The book is banned in many places as it touches many sensitive topics of Christianity. However, it is a masterpiece no less that stands testament to the hard work and amount of research put in. It is this book that popularised the existence of Mary Magdalene as the apparent wife of Jesus. It is a masterpiece written by a mastermind.

The Lost Symbol
Often criticised for being too long, this book stands true to the legacy of the Robert Langdon series, a legacy of good research and good writing. This book that talks about the Freemasons and their symbols through its story were hailed as one that helped to complete the revival of a genre that was “left for dead”. Agreed that this book requires patience especially in the last part when it goes on and on but the reward is worth it as the writing of Dan Brown never disappoints.

Inferno
This beautiful piece of literature has Robert Langdon pick up clues from the Divine Comedy, a gem as far as literature goes written by the historic Dante to follow a trail after he is told that he is wanted dead by the US Government. The following of the trail and its end is so brilliantly written that a reader has no problem imagining the visuals and feels transported into the adventure of Robert Langdon.

Origin
The latest book of the Robert Langdon series, the protagonist attempts to discover and release a secret before it is lost forever. Set in the vibrant background of Spain, the book does not disappoint and talks about the important question that is whether religion and science can co-exist and be praised for its relevancy to the modern times.

The Robert Langdon series are books that will leave you breathes and shocked and if you haven’t yet found a book that you have liked then give one of them a chance as they are known to make people fall in love with reading.
