Walking Dead has been entertaining us since the year 2010. Although the fan base it had during its early years is now gone but still, it is capturing many people’s hearts by its gripping storyline. People are still recovering from the fact that Carl Grimes(Chandler Riggs) has been killed off during the 8th season and now another actor playing the role of Rick Grimes has confirmed his exit.
For a month or two, there has been speculation that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is going to exit the show. The news has been confirmed by the creator of the comics and the show Robert Kirkman himself.
In an interview with filmmaker Kevin Smith at Comic-con, Kirkman said with a laugh “It’s looking that way” on being asked whether it would be Andrew Lincoln’s last season. It is the first public confirmation of the news that Tvline reported in May, with Lincoln set to appear only in the first half of the season 9.
Speaking on Good day Sacramento, Chandler Riggs a.k.a Carl Grimes who had been killed during the mid-season premiere of the 8th season said “I was shocked” and later told that he was happy for Lincoln.
“Andy has been on the show for so long and he’s had to leave his family every single year,” he said
” I was surprised but at the same time, it’s going to be good for him to get back to his family and raise his kids.”
But it looks like the fans aren’t happy with the confirmation of such news with nearly half a dozen of them saying that they won’t be viewing the show once Lincoln leaves.
Being a really huge fan of Rick myself I think that it was really unfair of the creative team to kill off the two characters who have been there since the beginning in subsequent seasons. It just won’t make sense now that Rick dies off some walker’s bite after so much that he has been going through. Here’s how Rick changed throughout all seasons of the Walking Dead.
