England Land Themselves In Trouble.
In a thrilling FIFA WORLD CUP SEMI-FINAL on Wednesday, Croatia has taken everyone by surprise by securing themselves a spot in the FIFA WORLD CUP FINAL against France this Sunday. They defeated The Three Lions 2-1 in a close encounter where even though Kieran Trippier got the English team the lead in the 4th minute a 68th-minute equalizer by Perisic followed by a late goal by Mario Mandžukić sealed Croatia’s fate. Even though Harry Kane is almost certain to win the golden boot topping the chart with 6 goals, he was unable to find a way through Croatia’s defense. The English Goalkeeper, Pickford was able to pull off heroic saves towards the end of the second half but the other English players weren’t even close to matching the enthusiasm of the Everton star. Croatia, on the other hand, even after an unsteady start, showed true character and emerged as the well-deserved victorious side.
Having the Mighty Belgians against the three lions wasn’t enough trouble for the Englishmen, FIFA has also opened an investigation on Discriminatory chants by the English supporters. “Proceedings have been opened against the Football Association, We can confirm that a report has been filed in relation to chants of a possible discriminatory nature by English fans,” said FIFA. Not only this, The FA was fined 70,000 Swiss Franc because Dele Ali, Raheem Sterling and Eric Dier “breached media and marketing regulations and the FIFA equipment regulations” by not wearing the official Nike Sock. England will be facing Belgium on Saturday to fight for third place in the FIFA WORLD CUP.
