Every Indian, one time or another has watched one full episode of CID. How could they not? The show has been going on forever since 1997 and it has completed its 21 years since. Every Saturday and Sunday, a new episode comes on air 10 p.m. Once, it got so popular that it came on air 3 days a week. Now, even though the ratings of the show are good and the cast members are fully dedicated on the show, CID to go off air indefinitely is in news.

CID to go off air

Its sadly true and not just a hoax. It has been confirmed by Dayanand Shetty who plays Daya, the big superhero on the show. The show will air its final episode on 27th October and then go off air indefinitely. In an interview Dayanand says that ” We were in our 21st year and had we shot a few more episodes, we would have entered our 22nd year. It is quite an unfortunate thing to happen as we were shooting like always and suddenly we were informed by our producer that the shooting has been canceled off indefinitely because there were issues with the channel.”

He adds ” I am going to miss the character, but we feel sad for the audience as they enjoyed the show and it was doing very well. The entire cast and crew were dedicated very well towards their work and we are like a big happy family. We are going to miss each other as this was our second home.”

The news of the show going off air has left the fans heartbroken. The fans have already started a #savecid campaign on social media. Many of them are requesting the channel to not remove the show off the air.

If Sony is not happy showing CID, there might be another channel like Colors, Star plus etc who would want to take it and might save the show.
